Bright Golden Sunrise

Bright Golden Sunrise

I want time for the remembrance of beautiful things,
Just to sit alone and longingly gaze.
But hurry and ramble and rushing and wait,
Consume precious moments and capture my days.

Sitting quite still is a modest desire,
Though it takes all the patience of Job it seems.
I’m bred and conditioned to run with the hordes,
Yet silence and solitude pepper my dreams.

Bright golden sunrise please whisk me away,
How ‘bout a south facing beach rich with shells.
I long to gather, examine and choose,
Perfect crustaceans of Conches and Krells.

Just let me stare to the blood red horizon,
The swells of the sea have stolen my heart.
I’m satisfied with peace and with quiet,
My here and my now are eons apart.
