The Beach

My feet walk on millions of years, hard as it maybe, soft on impact

Fine White boulders lay on land and in sea, minute to me, another gain in the earth’s time

Heat cooks the earth from morning to late evening, roasted grains on the white carpet

Insects dart in and over the shifting mountains, seeking shelter from shade and foe

The tides sends waves with new tenants, it washes in releasing time’s hostages

On its return to its depth’s other hostages are seized and placed in the custody of time

It is not clear which get the best of deals,

Beauty or bounty something so magical freedom to the self a nano in time

Lashings of white moulds around each step taken- temporary shapes unique to all

The universe looks on, knowing the laws, we slip and slide working the grains

The green intertwines the white, it gives a false sense of stability

Palm trees angle towards the sea, their umbrellas casts shadows below

Shadows and sand meet but have no touch, palms spread there duty on the beach

The air mingles with all the other elements, how in touch we are to everything and one

The cloudless sky reflects the sea, a willing partner, another layer of total connection

Softness of sky air heat, softness of stone ground up over the years

Softness of life that can contradict all of us

The beach is beauty and like beauty it shouts out its silent words to all
