Artist's Description

The Yorkshire Wheel is a tourist attraction in the grounds of the Royal York Hotel, close to York Railway Station. It was re-erected there in December 2011, having previously spent 2½ years (in 2006-8) in the grounds of the nearby York Railway Museum. The wheel has 42 pods (one with a glass floor) and is 54 metres high.
Between the Gardens and the wheel is the River Ouse – the water level was very high at the time of this photograph.
