Sing loud and release your scars.
Sing to Mother Earth, the moon, and her Stars.
Don’t beat yourself down, don’t ask yourself why.
Listen to your gut, your heart, and your mind.

To be true to one’s self that is the greatest of gifts
Don’t lose your passion, don’t let your heart shift.
To let yourself down that is man’s greatest demise,
So when your spirit wavers wipe not the passion from your eyes.

Do not bog yourself down with loss or regret,
For the memory of lost fortunes should never be kept.
Instead let yourself live for today
The past is long gone the future still quite far away.

Wade through the confusion, the depths, and the worries
There is no need to think fast no need for this hurry.
Keep yourself relaxed, stay cool, and be calm,
But still don’t lose your passion: don’t muffle your song.

Work hard and play hard but still do not fret
Life is too short to live with stress or regret.

Artist's Description

This poem I wrote freshman year in the middle of the night. I couldn’t fall asleep because I was worried about a history test I had and so I just wrote this to make myself feel better.
