St. Jude is best known as the patron saint of hope and impossible causes. He was one of the original twelve Apostles and preached the Gospel with great passion.

St. Jude is traditionally depicted carrying an image of Jesus, which recalls the miracle which Jesus preformed when asked by King Abagar to cure him of leprosy. The king sent an artist to bring an image of Jesus to him. Upon hearing of the great faith of the king, Jesus pressed His face to a cloth, leaving the image of His face on it. He gave the cloth to St. Jude, who took the image to Abagar and cured him.
