Mieko Kawasaki

Mieko is a designer born in Tokyo. She worked as a textile designer for 10 years at an apparel company after graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts and moved to New York in 2016. Mieko gets inspiration from Japanese underground culture, ‘80s new wave culture, and from club kids like Michael Alig (some of you may be familiar with the movie “Party Monster”). She brings slightly strange and quirky motifs to life with a cute twist with her bold choice of colors and humor.
