Artist's Description

This calendar depicts a series of Prayer Flag images, which formed the official exhibition at His Holiness The Dalai Lama’s Teachings in Nottingham, 2008.

Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Tibetan Buddhists believe the prayers and mantras on the flags will be blown by the wind to spread good will and compassion into all pervading space. Therefore, prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all.

10% of the proceeds from this calendar will be donated to the Tibet House Charity, which administers sponsorship schemes for Tibetan refugee school children in India and also sponsors elderly or destitute monks/nuns studying and practicing Buddhist philosophy.
