Artist's Description

Another shot of my little Festus.

I rescued Festus from the streets. He was approximately 3 months old and only 2 pounds. He had earmites, ticks, worms and a very bad eye infection. I fixed him all up and brought him to the vet. I’m happy to say a little over 2 years later, he is 13 pounds and only has a slight asthma problem which I keep under control with daily medication. Festus has also become an indoor cat. He’s afraid of the outside, I think it’s because of the rough time he had out there the first 3 months.
You might be wondering how this cute little guy got his name, Festus. Well, at the time I rescued him, I was taking care of my terminally ill Father. My Dad loved to watch the old westerns and his favorite was called, “Gunsmoke.” And, on this western was a “Deputy” named Festus. The “Deputy” had an eye that was always squinting, just one eye. Since, the kitten had an eye infection, he kind of looked like Festus the “Deputy” on Gunsmoke. The kitten’s eye infection cleared up but the name Festus stuck. And, that’s how he became known as Festus!
Unfortunately, only 10 months after rescuing Festus, my Dad passed away. He is dearly missed by me, my entire family and little Festus. My Dad loved this little cat.
