Hana Bay, Maui, Hawaii

Hana is located at the eastern end of Maui and is one of the most isolated communities in the state. It is reached mainly via the Hana Highway, a long, winding, 52-mile-long (84 km) highway along Maui’s northern shore. The journey here is a spectacular one, passing numerous waterfalls. It can take 2 hours, or 3-5 hours depending how much you stop.

I have traveled this road before so we knew how long it would take and had already booked accommodation in Hana. I was hoping for a sunrise shoot, but when the sunset looked this good I couldn’t sit around drinking beer and had to go to the beach. Glad I went because at sunrise it was pouring with rain, looks like I’ll have to go back and try for a sunrise again sometime.
