Artist's Description

Hera, the goddess, was walking the earth and noticed a comely young man bathing in a stream.
Thinking to amuse herself and pass the time she dropped her robe and went to seduce him.
The young man stumbled from the stream, covered himself with his robe and made to leave.
‘What is the matter with you!?’ the goddess demanded.
The young man stammered, ‘I’m not attracted to you.’
‘How can that be?’ the goddess demanded.
‘Well, you’re not really that pretty. Your nose it a bit to big and your eyes are too close together and squinty looking. Your mouth is turned down and your chin is a funny shape’
‘LIAR!!!’ the goddess cried and ripped out his tongue.

The Liar’s Tongue still grows today as a reminder to men everywhere to always Always tell the truth that women are beautiful!
