A gold stamper in a paddock in Hill End, NSW, Australia.
Photographed with a Canon 400D.
I have added some gold colouring here to emphasize the golden nature of this historic gold mining area as well as the grass in the background.
To separate the gold from the ore collected by the diggers in the mine tunnel, ore first had to be crushed by a series of hammers in the stamper head.
This machinery is out in the elements & so has had 150 years of weathering by sun, wind & rain & frost.
