This is near the start of the 9km boardwalk which stretches from the Rangers Station just north of the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre to Dove Lake which lies below Cradle Mountain.
The boardwalk has 3 sections. The first snakes it’s way to Snake Hill, the second runs down to Ronny’s Creek & the third dives toward the Dove Lake car park.
The boardwalk is essential due to high rainfall & slippery conditions & the obvious obstacles of the beautiful button grass. Chicken wire covers the middle of the boards for greater traction in wet & icy weather.
The wombats & other wildlife seem to like leaving their droppings all along the walk so you have to watch your step while enjoying the amazing scenery on this walk.
This is the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park in the incredibly picturesque state of Tasmania, Australia.
