Globalization of art - the positive side

I have joined RB just two days ago and got seriously hooked. I also made some amazing insights.
In the olden times there were a few, very few, great masters who made it to fame. Probably many, many more people had similar talent to Rembrandt of Leonardo but just didn’t have the luck of developing their talent. Even in the days of film photography, hardly a decade ago it wasn’t as simple and cheap to make good, superb, photos as it is today. But all this would still be not enough without places like RB where you can spread your art and show it to the world. In essence this is for me one of the most important parts of the digital revolution. The fact that the entire world is one big gallery and everybody can create and show it to the entire world. In the last few days I saw more great photos then I would have seen in years of visiting galleries. And they were all created by people who would have never had a chance to exhibit in a gallery. It is absolutely striking how much talent there is and now there exists a first class vehicle to exhibit it and get feedback. Many of the artists on this site live in remote corners this planet from southern Australia to southern Spain. Most probably never had any formal training in art and are doing all this as a hobby and not as professionals. Their output is however often very bit as professional. See for example the stunning nude self portraits of Textureofthesin some of the finest nude photos I have ever come across, or the captivating portraits and outdoor images of botticelli that strike you right in the belly, and many many more.

Another lovely aspect of RB is that it highlights the kindness in this world. There are no nasty comments, no professional critiques that feel that they have to tear you to pieces. You like an image you leave a kind note. You don’t feel so strongly you just brose on. And then you get good advice, you ask and get asked technical questions all in a friendly and helpful atmosphere.

Finally I find this site highly professional –it makes full justice to the images, it is responsive and fast and offers all the options you require.

Well done and keep on spreading the art around the world and creating a global artistic community.
