Interview with TextureoftheSin

As part of the chain interview that is getting people throughout redbubble closer I asked TextureoftheSin. to be interviewed. I have been following and admiring her art since joining RB not so long ago. She is highly creative taking full advantage of every single part and inch of her beautiful body and her boundless imagination to produce highly provocative, erotic and extremely beautiful works of art of meticulous technical perfection. I found it particularly interesting to interview as she combines several aspects of art in one person from the model via the photographer and the creative editor. I also found it interesting to communicate with a person at exactly the other end of the world demonstrating the RB is bringing artists together from all four corners of the globe.

My Creativity

I never saw myself as a very creative person. My brother and sisters were the creative ones. I got ‘nice’ comments from my teachers at school and comments such as “she tries hard” and “she has a bold style”. Hardly inspirational. I did better at creative writing and poetry …. loved studying english. Makes me wonder why the hell I didn’t continue it at uni ….. Anyway, I only took up photography in the first place because I sucked at drawing and painting …. LOL

How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?

It creates balance – I tend to get a little obsessive about stuff. Until last year I was heavily into my sport. A prologed period of illness left me unable to pursue that passion so I needed a new one. I pursue creativity as a release, it gets me out the door and it gives me something to do with my spare time. It stops me going nuts …. and it makes me more bearable to be around LOL

Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful?

DarkHotel2. Without him I doubt I could have started this journey let alone continue it. I deeply greatful to him for his encouragement, support, inspiration, kindness …. I have found him to be a truly respectful man with a wonderful energy and a big heart!

He’s got a cute bum too ;)

Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you?

A Silky Contrast by Katherine Johns. is one. Such a fantastic bodyscape – something I aspire to create.

Star Crossed Lover also by Katherine Johns. is another stunning bodyscape that inspires me

Crop by DarkHotel2. …. who would not be inspired by those legs….. Honestly, he is the Master of the dramatic – his work is sensational. Here is an everyday kind of guy who is comfortable enough with his body that he not afraid to get out and get naked in front of a camera …. now that is inspirational (and he has a cute bum)

Gaea Scrying by David Mapletoft. because I love nudes in nature and this is a beautful one! The only reason I have not done a nude outdoors yet myself is because it is the middle of friggin’ winter – brrrrr!!!!

Muse by Shawhouse.

Shawhouse is another artist who inspires me to want to learn more. He has shown me he can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear – now that gives me hope LOL He takes good images and makes them brilliant. I wanna be like him when I grow up (‘cept I wanna drink beter coffee)
