THE PAST OR A FUTURE?

Facades dressed up as people
Egocentric to the core
Conditioned and constructed
Churned out more and more

Fear dictates their actions
Eyes working yet they’re blind
Too scared to be different
Just more of the same kind

Hope’s almost non existent
As their master forbids it to breathe
They walk only in the shadows
And miss the summer breeze

On the surface they appear happy
Smiles mask their pain
They’re puppets from their birth
Oblivious to the game

Yet deep inside their spirit yearns
To taste the air that’s free
And feel the warmth of love
In all they touch and see

Love’s language they innately know
But it’s words they cannot speak
Ignorance has blinded them
Their will is just too weak

Interesting it will be
To see what will be done
When the clouds are all removed
And they finally see the sun

Will they grasp its meaning?
Will they understand?
Will they fight with all they have?
To live in a new land

THE PAST OR A FUTURE?
