new life

O God i scream as the snake burns like acid through my veins
Moving at no more than a trickle
Time to think
And upon reflection
The questions of life and its importance
Seem so trivial

Life itself is burnt from my very soul
Leaving only a shadow, that has no name
Fragments of my mind are but shattered glass
Resembling the bitter seed that will never flower

So many voices surround my thoughts
Feasting on a smorgasboard of hate
O little one they sheepishly call
Pretending to be my friend as they offer me
The poisoned challace

new life
