Aches and pains

Here is a lament that I will spill
My poor old aching body cries out
Youthful enjoyment of football games
Fun too much to listen
Words of my father ignored so much
You’ll be sorry my son one day
When you hit a certain age
The old man arthiritis will call
Slowly creaking and cracking around
Cold winds will blow and chill you to your bones
Hard to walk sometimes and stand
With the creaking and cracking sound
Aching backs and knees do cry
Whoa is me, grinding of my bones today
Old man river is like my walk today
The pills I pop to stop the pain
Sometimes I think of my playing days
The thumps and bumps crashing to the ground
Oh what fun it was then
Dreams and memories I have of then
The aches and pains come back again
