The Girl at the Window

The girl looks outside her window
Her face filled with despair
Hu-hu-hu-hu faster then slower then faster again
Breathe in breathe out breathing in all life has to offer her
Stress, despair, misery, pain
It’s all tied together and driving her insane
Hu-hu-hu-hu her insides feel torn and ripped and drained
Hu-hu-hu-hu she’s slowly slipping away
Hu-hu-hu-hu she doesn’t feel the need to face another day
Hu-hu-hu-hu she wants out she’s tired of this pain
Hu-hu-hu-hu she’s tired of what others have to say
They don’t even know what she goes through from day to day
Yet some how or other they find something judgmental to say
She screams and cries out all in her head
It’s so bad she’s constantly wishing she were dead
No one seems to see through her pain
The pain that’s carrying her down a mental and social drain
So much stress, not enough comfort spread, too many words
Too many things coming all at once, cutting like two-edged swords
Everyone thinks she’s little miss perfect without a care or worry
But if they all would stop and notice, they’d see the truth in her story
Hu-hu-hu-hu all signs are pointing to the beginning of the end
Hu-hu-huuu she takes in a breath and slowly forces the two-edged sword in
Drip-drip-drip this is it
The pain is leaving now, then ceases to exist
The girl steps away from the cold shell that she’ll never miss
She turns her back to the world and her old self that no longer exists
But wait, the girl’s alive, did you catch the twist
She’s free to soar and find a new life with angels at her feet
She’s no longer subject to the hands of deceit
You see the sword is the Word of God that ultimately saved her life
She’s found the way to kill off the pain and strife
She’s now a new creature and beautiful in each new way
She only holds herself subject to what the Word has to say
She’s learning from the mistakes she made in her past
She’s running this new life’s race and refuses to finish last
Huuuhh with each breathe she breathes in life from the Lord
A life so smooth and even like a freshly played chord
And everyday she’s thankful to God and gives Him the glory
Because He made her a conqueror by giving her victory.
