Artist's Description

Esse quam videri is a Latin phrase translated as ‘To be, rather than to seem (to be)’. A similar phrase was used by the Ancient Greek, Aeschylus (525 to 456 B.C.), but it’s thought that the Roman, Cicero (106 to 43 B.C) was the first to use it.
