Artist's Description

These colorful prayer wheels were on display by a local merchant in Barkhor Square, the heart of Lhasa, Tibet. Tibetan prayer wheels (called Mani wheels by the Tibetans) are devices for spreading spiritual blessings and well being. Pilgrims spin them clockwise as they walk around the holy sites and monasteries. This is also a prayer for a Free Tibet.
