Artist's Description

The critically endangered black and white ruffed lemurs live in the canopy of the rainforests in eastern Madagascar. Their bright staring yellow eyes glow in the dark and their elaborate system of loud barks may be alarm calls or a method of keeping contact and maintaining space between groups.

From an original painting in gouache and watercolor.
