"Seeds of Doubt"

The seeds of doubt lay hidden
They grow quietly beneath our exterior gloss
Our roots must be strong as our battle rages on
Inner spirit is our stalk of courage
As our petals fall one by one
The seeds of doubt flourish most when we are at our best
Because that is when we are most nurtured
But the growing seeds of doubt cause our petals, our veneer, to fall
Slowly until the ugly face of doubt is the only part of the flower left
We are not the flower, we are the plant, and if we are strong and keep on believing in life
And ourselves then we will survive the doubt and flourish.
Doubt may return as the seeds do to the flower, but our strength will ride us through.
