Artist's Description

This is a most unusual painting and was painted in the final days of the last millenium. It formed a part of a prize awarded to Goldie Hawn in Aspen, Colorado, to honour her for her work in helping the people of Tibet. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to co-host the event with Ivana Trump too.
While it was also highlighted by being able to meet Kevin Costner on the evening, nothing could quite match up to the wonderful character of Goldie, a most amazing individual.
It was influenced by Edward R. hughes’ “Night with her train of Stars”. This is meant to depict the end of the night, i.e. the end of the darkness for Tibet.
It is mainly soft pastel, but with some paper relief too.
