Norfolk Island Pines – Esperance, Western Australia
There is not a tree on this planet that, for me, manages to trigger such an emotional response, or evoke childhood memories of beachside holidays. When life was simple.
The title – Dreamworld – came from a song of the same name that I always get in my head when I see one of these trees. You know the one, by Midnight Oil:
So farewell to the Norfolk Island pines
No amount of make believe can help this heart of mine
They were my childhood heroes. I still love them, but I’m a little bit cranky with Peter Garrett at the moment ;)
