The Last Time

The last sweet sound of your laughter,
The last sad tear running down your cheek.
The last time you held my hand,
The last time you gazed longingly into my eyes.
The last time we shared our most treasured dreams,
The last time.
So many last times, had I known,
I’d have stayed in those moments forever.
Eternal moments frozen in time,
Forever, my memory of our last time.
I would sell all my last times, just for one last time with you.
One last chance to take your sweet face gently in my hands,
To lean into you with a soft kiss to your lips,
Lingering,
Breathing you in,
Smelling the sweetness of your hair,
The soft velvet feel of your perfect skin.
Could I take this last moment and then freeze this forever,
Stay there in the last time with you.
You’re my world,
My life,
My everything.
You’re gone from my touch,
But never from my memories.
Sweet angel,
I’ll go to sleep in our last times,
And dream you back here.
