Black Pain

Like a circle is spreads
Engulfing her effortlessly
Swallowing what’s left
Leaving nothing behind

Into the steaming cup she stares
Smoke circles misting her eyes
She sees nothing she can feel
Detached and closed off from it

Somehow there is one sense
Her hands embrace the cup
The warmth she begs to work
To defrost the stone in her heart

Her tea is no longer normal
To her it has changed
Like everything else
She senses its change to black

Her fifteen minutes have passed
Her cup of black she leaves
Only thickened air she consumed
Filled to the brim she continues to exist

Black Pain
