dSLR w/ Movie Mode (Link - Nikon D90 and Canon 5DMII)

With the recent announcement of Nikon D90 and Canon 5DMII, I was initially abit confuse, as the “concept” of SLR and a Handycam is now blurred.

Although (before I see the video link posted below), I’d see myself getting much more convenient in carrying one less item in my kit bag (I usually carry a small handycam to record the family moment whenever we go out and about).

Plus, having the ability to use the unique feature of our lenses (macro, fish eye, tilt-shift), is another attractive feature, rather than just the “boring” 3x zoom from wide angle to a tele (at least for me it is quote an average / boring feature of a handycam). But it will increase storage space (no wonder SanDisk just issued out a 32Gb CF Card (

Whether or not I’m going to save up some money to buy a dSLR with Video HD capability? Sure, why not. I’m finding it very handy for the aforementioned reasons. But then, I may wait until this “newly introduced” tech (at least in the dSLR realm) is refine in the 2nd or 3rd generation. Maybe.
Or at least check the reviews of the actual production unit of these dSLR.

OR … save up my money on the lenses … that is on my top list … ___
