Some would confuse this Black Bear with a Grizzly due to his coloring. Although less common, black bears can be this cinnamon color. While he looks to have a bit of a hump that’s mostly due to his stance in this image. It is definitely not as pronounced as you would observe on a griz, and the shape of the ears is more rounded – the face more rotund and without the distinctive dished forehead and nose seen on a Grizzly Bear. A very pretty specimen even if he does have a case of “bed hide”.
