My Road To You

How far down this road must I go
Traveling, toiling ever so
Bending back and aching chest
Trying often to get some rest
My labors hard, rewards are sweet
Slowly lift me to my feet
Aging after every step
Only faith in memories kept
It seems so hard this road I travel
Good things done sometimes unravel
Just stand there now be true with love
For He watches you from up above
For I may struggle, cringe and ache
all of this from us He will take
You and I and all that travel down the narrow
Shall one day rest as a sparrow
In His garden bliss full sweet
Resting comfortably at His feet
Thank you lord for guiding me
So I may come and rest with thee
