On the way to Glacier, we came upon this band of horses. We were still on the Blackfoot reservation. One little foal, a bay, had a badly injured front left leg. It limped to its mother on three legs to nurse.
Not shown in this photo, is a sorrel stallion with a blaze face and his band standing on the side of the road just across the fence. Whether that band was free ranging or broke through its own fence, I have no clue, but he watched us with a wary eye, though we approached quite close.
