This photo may not be significant to you, but right now these butterflies should be migrating, having fed for weeks on the flowers waiting for them here.
To date, I have seen THREE. They should be a black and orange cloud crossing highway 231.
No skippers, no moths. No bees, wasps or other pollinators.
It is VERY sinister.
There are no flowers, and the roadsides have been scoured by an overzealous mowing policy. We should have Monarchs all over the place. I haven’t seen any. Half of my property is totally wild.
No flowers. Just growth.
