Happy is the bride that rain falls on

Congratulations and best wishes to Peter and Tatiana

On Saturday the 20th of April I was fortunate enough to be a guest at the wedding of Peter and Tatiana , the event was held at Leura in the Blue Mountains, just West of Sydney, in the Everglades Gardens The plan was for an outdoor ceremony on the terrace, but the weather put paid to that, it rained and drizzled on and off during the day and when it wasn’t actually coming down, it was still misty. The cermony was moved indoors to the main house, a restored 1930’s art deco residence.

It was a great weekend, it’s always good to catch up with friends, and it was a reminder to me of the value of the community that is Redbubble. I met Peter and Tatiana, and a number of the other guests through Red bubble. It was also lovely to meet some of P

Just Do It...

Going through some old papers, I found a yellowing typed manuscript written by my Mother in 1963. She had submitted it to magazines in England but as far as I know it was never published. (I vaguely remember finding it previously and asking her about it, before her memory was ravaged by Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia)…

These days it’s hard to get any sense out of her at all, and at times I become frustrated and annoyed just trying to look after her. Then I have to check myself, and try to become more patient and philosophical about it. Reading this article really brought home the contrast between who she was then, and who she is now. It also reinforced my feelings that if you want to do something, just do it, and don’t be constrained by the trappings of modern life, or a fear of the un

Another Fabulous RB catch up

On Sunday (14th of October 2012) we had another fabulous RB dawn shoot and catch up, this time at South Head. Maria organised the event, and a fine job she did too.…

We even arrived on site before the sun poked its face over the horizon to reveal that she had us standing precariously at the top of a cliff overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Plenty of people turned out at stupid o’clock: Arfan Karen Yolanda Ian Adriano Eve Norm Christina Jeff Jason Maria Lorraine

We started out at the Hornby Lighthouse, and took over the place, more snappers than you’d expect from a good day out fishing. The distinctive red and white striped lighthouse on the top of the weathered sandstone cliffs made a great subject, and many of those who attended have already posted some fantastic images from the day

Important information for all RB Members

Yesterday Redbubble added a new function to the site, they added a “Pin it” button to allow anyone to pin work they find on Redbubble to the now well known and widely derided site known as Pinterest.…

Redbubble posted a journal announcing this new function and also pointing out that if people didn’t wish to partake in this they could opt-out by changing their settings to hide the “Pin it” button. Unfortunately the journal was only prominent in the opening page for about twelve hours or so, before another journal replaced it.

I believe that it’s really important for artists to be aware of this, and that’s the reason I’ve posted this journal. While some members will be happy to have their images pinned and re-pinned by anyone, many will not. If they are unaware of this change they won’t be i

RB Community is Alive and Well :)

Our RB Sydney Meet-up was a great success, many members kicked themselves out of bed at stupid O’clock and met at Shelly Beach: Arfan Kelly Karen Maria Yolanda Adriana Tatiana Jason Jeff Loraine Ian Adriano Arnold

The sky didn’t put on anything spectacular for us, but it’s always good to spend time by the ocean at sunrise, and today was no exception. After the sun had done its thing, we walked along the waterfront, taking photos, chatting, and generally adding to the congestion on the path. Then it was off to a big breakfast at the Interpolitan Cafe, followed by a walk around part of North head.
It was great to catch up with old friends and make some new ones, wonderful company and conversation and a bit of exercise thrown in. It’s certainly rewarding to be part of the Redbubble commu

RB Sydney Meet

It’s time for another meet up of Sydney RB members, (or anyone else who wants to make the trip) The day is Sunday the 9th of September, everyone is welcome to join us, we’re Looking forward to meeting some more Bubblers :)…

So far we have Maria Moro, Adriana Glackin, Tatiana R, Peter Hill and myself.

Our plan is for a dawn shoot in the Shelly Beach area, followed by breakfast in Manly and then a wander around the North Head Sanctuary/Quarantine Station. People are welcome to join us for all or part of the meet.

Sunrise is at 0602 so I think sometime about 0500 would be a good target for the keen dawn shooters :)

Tides for Sun 9th (Fort Denison)
High tide 0158 – 1.08m
Low tide 0744 – 0.66m
As there will be a falling tide, depending on the weather, the rocks around the point may be a good shoot

She's Leaving :( Bonnie Please Don't Go)

My Low profile here at the moment is not a sign that I don’t care, I do care very much and I’m deeply upset and saddened that so many wonderful members of this community feel the need to hastily leave in protest. One thing that seems to be common is the claim that legitimate and reasonable protests are being deleted. I have seen posts deleted and in every case there has been a good reason for them to be deleted, we are all intelligent enough to know that there is a significant difference between making a point and being deliberately abusive and derogatory. Yet when those posts which are clearly intended to be offensive or are in clear breach of RB rules are deleted there is a bleating and indignant claim of bias which is totally unjustified.…

All over the bubble there are legitimate concer
