Matthew MacPherson (born 1980) is a Boston-based artist, designer and landscape photographer. A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Boston College, MacPherson projects his vivid imagination onto the paper utilizing his studies in engineering and schematic design. The Olympians is a series of thirteen triptychs paying homage to the thirteen Olympians of the Greek pantheon, in painstaking pen-and-ink freehand. Debuting ten years after MacPherson’s first art project, The Artist, the Olympians instead looks outward. Each drawing is also based on a real person of the artist’s own past.
