Artist's Description

Taken last Saturday, early morning. It was actually around 3 am. Later on around 9:15 am while traveling down Highway 1, a woman in a SUV crossed over the double yellow line into our lane causing a head-on collision. My friend and I escaped serious injury, but his car, and my favorite lens were totaled in the process.

This is the last image my trusty old lens took before getting obliterated.

Tonight I’m sore and depressed and angry, but all of that will pass. I know that I’m lucky to be around after this incident. The ironic part of the accident was that the lady was crossing lanes in order to park in a turnoff so she could snap a picture of the ocean with her iPhone…

Taken at Pfieffer State Beach, CA

Camera Nikon D90
Lens Tokina 12-24mm
Exposure 121 seconds
Aperture f/5.6
Focal Length 14 mm
ISO Speed 200
