After helping a good friend move, I wound up in Arizona this weekend and when I sought a one way car rental to get home, it quickly became more favorable for me to fly home instead since the average cost for the one way rental would have run me no less than $300 per day.
I wound up at the Phoenix Airport with four hours to kill, and fortunately there was a runway that had an occassional takeoff that I could photograph.
The window that was available was only about 4 feet wide and so I had to watch the planes start down the runway, at which point I’d zip over to the small window and wait for the plane to enter into my field of view, and then I’d snap away. In the case of this jetliner, I actually ran to another window around 15 yards away and caught the image below afterwards, changing my settings on the fly and all.
Yes, I am a total complete aircraft nerd…
