It didn't amount to anything.

Growing up was never to be easy,
especially around my place
and being me I had no idea
I was different from the rest of human race

The children all giggled as we walked by,
Towards the only place that I felt safe
They whispered about what we looked like
All I wanted was to be their friend

But in the end, oh in the end,
it didn’t amount to anything.

To see them in the school yard play,
forever excluding, and pushing away
And I want a piece of these,
these brutal beatings and name callings

But in the end, oh in the end
It didn’t amount to anything.

Working in a small town area,
and watching other kids like me
I want to talk to them, its going to be okay
but to say that would be a lie.

Because in the end, oh in the end,
it doesn’t amount to anything

It didn't amount to anything.

Artist's Description

This is my first attempt at writing a song. I’ve played guitar for a number of years, and I love to tell a good story, but I’ve never combined the two before.
This has song barely anything to do with me. I wanted to write something that would raise awareness about the problems in our own towns, of the disadvanteged people that need support that usually is not given.
