Artist's Description

I used to go out to the local shelter and take pictures of the animals because the shelter could not afford a camera. I didn’t think pictures of them behind bars would get them adopted. So I would open their cage. While I was there I would check their food, water, litter box, etc…

When I put my head near to check this cat’s needs, this is what she did. She was so starved for affection, she just stayed like that. You can tell she was just savoring the moment and soaking as much of it in as she could. I took advantage of the moment and savored it myself.

The moment felt so incredibly rick and fulfilling I wanted to catch it. I just lifted up my hand with the camera in it and snapped the picture. This homeless cat made me feel so enriched and needed I could not describe it. No animal is disposable.
