Artist's Description

Please view the writing inspired by this snap and of the same title.

This is a snap, taken last spring, of what remains of Ballycastle Friary. It was closed and left to ruination in the 1500’s, if I remember correctly.
Although at first sight it is just a pile of stones and a graveyard, albeit in a beautiful setting, it has a tremendous wamrth and peace about the place. We understand how buildings, eg churches, are consecrated for use and, sadly, subsequently deconsecrated, but it feels here as if the place is still truly blessed. Of course, as Christians we would say that all creation and created is blessed, but you will know what I mean.
When we visited it was a miserable rainy day but you wouldn’t know it looking at this view; certainly we left the place feeling rather restored and espcially blessed.
Praise the Lord for His ever-presence.
