Artist's Description

Today 4-1-2012 three of my sisters and I went to see two seals released back to the ocean. These are seals that have been rescued and then brought to the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. They have a Marine Biology Dept that rehabilitates hurt and abandoned seals and then returns them to the sea. The larger light one is a female Harbor Seal. The smaller dark one is a Gray Seal. The female has an antenna attached so she can be located and tracked. It was awesome watching them be released and then eventually finding their way down the beach to the ocean and finally swimming away.being released back to the ocean.
