Tintinhull Inn was first occupied by Joseph Chaffey (1835-1917) who emigrated from England to Australia in 1852. He established a mail run which was eventually taken over by Cobb & Co. The Inn served as a coach stop and was occupied by descendants of the Chaffey family up until the 1970’s.
Though partly overgrown, the place still looks charming.
The painting is based on an image I captured in the early morning as the sunlight just began to strike the front of the old inn as well as the tree.
