Being a Christian

It’s interesting how we see ourselves in our mind’s eye, we either see ourselves first and foremost or we see ourselves as unworthy and living a lie.

It’s all a matter of preception from within and from without, yet how we measure up to the rest of the flock is not what being a Christian is all about.

“We like sheep have all gone astray,” so why is it so easy to see ourselves or others as inferior on any given day?

Are we not known from our mother’s womb, and is not every hair counted upon our head, are we not created as individuals and thus uniquely different in the life we’ve each led?

Measuring up to a preconceived notion is the world’s way, just conform to our standards and you’ll be accepted and everything will be okay. May it never be in the body of Christ, for preconceived notions only bring about envy division and strife.

Unity of purpose is God’s only call, how we reach His purpose is never the same for one and for all. Thus being a Christian is not conforming to what someone else believes to be right; being a Christian is simply accepting God’s will for your own individual life!
