Choices We Make

Life doesn’t often go the way one might suppose…
Paths once thought to be open,
Many times narrow and close.

Suddenly found standing on unfamiliar ground…
Should one choose to press ahead,
Or should one choose to turn around?

Would that foresight and hindsight were one in the same…
Think of living life free of remorse,
Think of living life free of pain!

Freedom of choice both a blessing and a curse…
Who among us in a moment of weakness,
Hasn’t made a choice that inevitably made things worse.

And so one need not be paralyzed with fear…
Humanities weakness, is but the purpose,
For which God’s grace incarnate had need to appear!
