Society's Creed

It seems as though paying ones dues is a foreign concept lost in the past…
Today society wants what it wants,
And it wants it cheap and it wants it fast.

It seems as though loyalty isn’t what it use to be…
It merits little respect if any at all,
In today’s self-serving society.

Once considered noble putting the needs of others before that of your own…
In today’s society you’re thought to be a fool,
If you’re not looking out for you and you alone.

So too, being charitable in times past was simply doing right and acting kind…
Now charity is all about making money and manipulating people,
Into giving up their last dime.

Instant gratification society’s new self-serving creed…
It matters not the sacrifices of others,
As long as you get what you need!
