Age Before Beauty...

I may not be as young and wild as I once was,
For with age comes wisdom and so much more…
And the knowledge I’ve gained is far greater now,
Than when I was young and insecure.

I may not be as muscular or as strong as I once was,
Yet my arms are able to embrace with greater strength,
Than they ever did before…
For with age comes the knowledge,
That there is no greater strength,
Than a love that is steadfast and sure!

With youth the desire is for others to lighten one’s load,
With age comes the wisdom of knowing,
The burdens we carry for others,
Are simply love’s required toll.

And so in a culture that worships youth and sculptured bodies,
More so than ever before…
It matters not that my outer cover shows the many years,
What matters is,
My inner man is more patient, more loving, more tender and kind,
Than ever before!
