We’d been up at Keswick for the weekend at our timber lodge when the snow started to come down heavily. Although it was still early on Sunday morning, we decided to head off home though the Lakes. The further south we went the heavier the snow became. As we approached Rydal Water it stopped and I pulled the car into a lay by at the far end of the lake just past the boat house. The snow was about 6 inches deep and it was quite difficult to get down to the water’s edge to get a shot with Loughrigg Fell in the background.
The shot is almost black and white except for the orange colors of the reeds and feathers on the birds.

Great shot.
Cheers Jamie. I think the birds must have been hungry as they came over as soon as I got to the waters edge.
