Artist's Description

Bidean nam Bian are the famous Three Sisters of Glen Coe, three steeply-sided ridges that extend north into the Glen. Two of the sisters, Gearr Aonach (Short Ridge) and Aonach Dubh (Black Ridge) converge at Stob Coire nan Lochan. The final, most easterly sister is Beinn Fhada (Long Hill). I have wanted to take this image for some time now but never had the right conditions, it always seems to dark. However on this occasion the snow had lifted the light around the peaks which gave the mountains some definition. It was a bonus to have blue skies and a great cloud formation to make the image.

Canon EOS 5D MK 3, Canon L series 24 – 105 mm lens, 1/80 sec @ f/11, ISO 100, 0.3 Lee ND grad filter
