Our sweet Rascal inspects the tree and gifts, probably sniffing his in one of the packages. He was a huge personality in a small package beloved by all who knew him! Funny, silly, tough when need be, very alpha, and protective. Never had such a loving pet! He was sorely missed this Christmas.
His breed is Petite Bassett Griffon Vendeen, or PBGV, an old breed from France. They are rabbit hounds and use their voice very freely!
This was a year that money was scarce and the fellas set out Christmas eve to find a tree, because as yet we had none. They went to the sales area where many had been, but the vendor was gone as were all the trees. All but one. It lay, discarded, and though tall was a bit of a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree with few branches.
Well, home it came. Ted and Teddy were so proud to have produced the tree ( and I was glad that one of my neighbors didn’t lose any evergreens from their front yard) so I got the decorations out and worked a little magic.
And when it was done, it didn’t look half bad. You could see all the ornaments clearly and each one shown because of all the space between the branches. I didn’t have a lot of presents but I had a lot of paper and boxes so I set to work wrapping everything I could. And the picture above is what I ended up with, which made the day seem pretty special. Hope you like it. We did.
