Artist's Description

In 1961, Savannah’s son, Johnny Mercer, wrote the Song, Moon River, for which he and Henry Mancini won that year’s Academy Award for best original song. It was used in the Movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The river was near Mercer’s home but was not then known as Moon River. It was later renamed in honor of Mercer. I quite literally stumbled onto this spot. The view is from a fishing pier and it was only when I was leaving that I saw the name of the river.

This is several vertical shots stitched together into a larger panorama. The view before me was too large for a normal photo to contain.
