Emmanuel College at Cambridge was established in 1584. It’s known locally as “Emma.”
This view is just inside the main entrance and shows the chapel designed by Sir Christopher Wren, famed English architect, in 1677.
Emmanuel was originally a college of religious training for puritans but has broadened in years since. It has strong ties to New England in America. Harvard, the oldest college in the US, was named for John Harvard, an Emmanuel alumni.
