Artist's Description

I find the sea to be a great source of inspiration. I love the way water action tends to smoothen hard things like stones and glass fragments. I wanted an impression of smooth stones and stone chips to be dominant. As with many other pieces, I try to hold the elements together with lines and line-like objects. I wanted to give an impression of translucence to some of the objects, like sea polished glass and quartz pieces, by allowing some lines to be partially visible from beneath. The background was delightful accident since what I ended up with was better what I was shooting for in the beginning, so I decided to keep it. I have a lot of these delightful accidents when I do my artwork. I started with a pattern of clouds and proceeded to play with the colors and textures until I had something wet looking, and deeply contrasting with and well as complementing the drawing it was showcasing.

If you look at my artwork you will notice the one consistency is the lack of consistency. I try to make each piece different from all the others. With each piece I try something new and try to learn something in the process making each piece a process of self discovery.
